Destiny was cruel for the Rossoneri as they will face the Galacticos of their former player Kaka in the group stage of the Champions League.
Milan general manager Adriano Galliani was visibly disappointed with today’s Champions League group stage draw.
The Rossoneri would have obviously preferred to avoid Real Madrid, but fate played a trick on them as they will be facing their former star player Kaka just a few months after his departure, the wound from which, for the supporters, is still open and raw.
“Milan was in pot one and picked up the toughest team from pot two,” commented the Rossoneri’s director toSky.
“We, just like Inter, will face our former player: they will face [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic and we will face Kaka.
“Real Madrid? I would have preferred facing them later; they have been the transfer market kings. It’s a clash between the two teams who won the Champions League the most times.
“It’s the main clash of this phase. I already have a call on my mobile from [Real Madrid president] Florentino Perez.”
Many will be curious to see what kind of welcome the Rossoneri supporters will reserve for Kaka when he returns for the first time to Milan’s San Siro stadium.
