Kaka: Real Madrid Have Nothing To Fear From Weaker English Teams

Kaka is convinced the Spanish teams will be stronger than their Premier League counterparts in this season’s Champions League…

Real Madrid’s Kaka believes English sides do not pose a significant threat to Los Blancos’ quest to win the Champions League this season.

The former Milan star thinks that Manchester United are weaker, due to the departures of Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez, and Liverpool are not as strong, with Xabi Alonso, now of Los Merengues, a key loss to the Reds.

Only Chelsea, Kaka asserted, can claim to be stronger, particularly as they have his former mentor, Carlo Ancelotti, at the helm.

The Brazilian told The Daily Telegraph, “The English teams have lost some important players while the top teams in Spain have kept hold of the top players and added some of the best in Europe.

“With the team Madrid now has, anything but becoming European champions is not good enough.

“Manchester United have lost some great players and are weaker than last season.

“Chelsea do not play the most exciting football in Europe but play one of the most effective forms.

“As things stand, with their current players and manager, Chelsea are the team to be most feared from England.

“I love to watch Arsenal and it would be nice to see that style of football rewarded with a trophy.

“Liverpool are never an easy team to play. I had some great battles with them when I was at Milan and they are a team who are suited to European football.”

Kaka will soon find himself in familiar surroundings as Los Blancos have been drawn in the same group as his former club, Milan.

After a huge summer spending spree, Real will be desperate to win the trophy, especially as the final will be held at the Santiago Bernabeu, the club’s home.
