With Lippi expected to announce his squad for next week’s Cameroon friendly on Sunday, the Milan hitman has put his name forward.
“A Nazionale return? The papers say this, but I have not received the call,” he told Radio 1.
“I hope I score some goals tomorrow [against Atalanta] so the coach can call me. My objective is to win with Milan so that I can return to the national team.”
Borriello has scored eight goals in 18 games for Milan in the league this season.
