Lippi has been tipped to work at Milan as a technical director…
Italy coach Marcello Lippi is being linked with a role at Milan, according to both Il Corriere dello Sport and La Gazzetta dello Sport newspapers.
It has been widely reported that Rossoneri coach Leonardo is set for an exit at the end of term. On Thursday further information behind the Brazilian’s unrest at the club was leaked when quotes attributed to president Silvio Berlusconi suggested the axe had fallen.
“Leonardo will leave at the end of the season,” he allegedly said.
Those quotes were quickly denied by Berlusconi’s right hand man Adriano Galliani.
Nevertheless, it has not stopped reports signalling a change, and Lippi’s name has been added to the list.
The Nazionale coach will not be appointed as tactician, but as a technical director to work alongside a probable duo of Mauro Tassotti, currently Leonardo’s assistant, and Filippo Galli, head of the club’s youth sector.
Lippi will lead Italy at the World Cup, and is likely to leave his post at the helm after the tournament.
