Milan Sweat Over New Coach Plan As Cagliari Threaten To Block Massimiliano Allegri Move

Galliani left scratching his head as Cellino tries to block Allegri move…

Milan could be forced to change policy and approach in relation to their ongoing search for a new coach as Cagliari chief Massimo Cellino has threatened to impede their progress on Massimilliano Allegri.

Cagliari sacked Allegri in April, but he is still under contract in Sardinia until 2011. Cellino is furious with the coach because he believes he had established contact with Milan long ago – one of the reasons behind his sacking.

And he is ready to exact revenge by blocking any potential move to San Siro. The latest developments are unlikely to sit comfortably with Milan CEO Adriano Galliani, who on Thursday said he was hopeful Allegri would join the Rossoneri.

“Allegri is in all effects a Cagliari coach. I am angry with him because he gave up,” Cellino fumed to L’Unione Sarda newspaper.

“He turned our end of season into mediocrity, when I expected more. He had been in contact with Milan before.

“I am not happy and I won’t hide the fact that I want to take revenge. I can keep him here for a year, it’s a possibility and I will not exclude it.”

Reports suggest Galliani is to meet Cellino this weekend in an attempt to plead with him so he can salvage what’s left of Milan’s fragmenting move for the coach.
