World Cup 2010: Brazil Midfielder Kaka Keen To Demonstrate That He Is Over His Injury Problems

Big money Real Madrid signing suffered through a terrible debut season in Spain…

Brazil star Kaka insists that he will show he is not a £60 million bust for Real Madrid at the World Cup this summer.

There have been major doubts that the World Player of the Year two seasons ago with AC Milan would be able to make an impact in South Africa after an injury plagued first season in Spain.

Kaka was taken off for Nilmar in Brazil’s 2-1 World Cup opening win over North Korea on Tuesday.

However, the 28-year-old was pleased with his showing and is keen to prove that he is capable of emulating legendary No. 10’s for Brazil like Pele and Zico.

“I believe we can win the World Cup and that I can play a big part,” Kaka told the Daily Star.

“I feel good – better than for some time.

“I’m happy with my first game. I’m glad I made it here. Considering my injuries, I feel good.

“I had problems with my groin which kept me out for over a month and then there were muscle problems. That is natural when someone spends that length of time out of the game.”

Real Madrid came up empty-handed last season in a year that started with so many expectations after big money moves for Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo, among others.

Depsite the lost year at Real, Kaka believes that the situation at the Bernabeu can only improve next season.

“Okay, Real finished the season with nothing.

“But it is not possible for things to happen overnight.

“I am certain things can only get better next season.”
