The Uruguayan could return to Serie A…
AC Milan have identified Barcelona full-back Martin Caceres as a possible option in defence, according toYahoo! Eurosport.
The defender spent last season on loan with Juventus, where he made 15 appearances in Serie A and had a positive impact before succumbing to injury. The Rossoneri did not find a consistent right-back last season as Gianluca Zambrotta, Massimo Oddo, and Ignazio Abate all failed to impress.
Coach Massimiliano Allegri believes the Uruguayan would be a good option to shore up the back-line, but the Rossoneri would like to take the player on loan, while Barcelona are intent on selling him outright as he is surplus to requirements at Camp Nou.
The 23-year-old’s best season was with Recreativo in 2007-08, when he made 34 appearances before securing a move to the Blaugrana.
