EXCLUSIVE: List Of Six Possible Signings For The Milan Attack

With Milan reportedly in the market for a centre forward, here is the list of six possible signings…

And the hunt is on for ‘Mister X’. After the Silvio Berlusconi show, in which he hinted at a mega-star arrival, casa Milan are eagerly awaiting a top signing. The president touched upon various themes and he is ready to make a sacrifice on the transfer market. “Every time I have been asked for a big player I have always said ‘yes’,” Berlusconi said. We look at six players that could arrive at San Siro.

LUCAS BARRIOS
Age: 25
Club: Borussia Dortmund (GER)
Position: Forward

This is the latest name, the latest suggestion. Not one that sparks fantasy, but an interesting prospective solution. The Paraguayan striker who scored 19 goals with Borussia Dortmund last season has been outstanding. He never scored at the World Cup in South Africa, but he showed he can assist his team-mates near goal. He represents the halfway point between a decent signing and a gamble.

EDIN DZEKO
Age: 24
Club: Wolfsburg (GER)
Position: Forward

This is a dream. For more than a year Dzeko has been the name most regularly linked with Milan. The Bosnian hitman, the top scorer in the Bundesliga, would be ideal for the Rossoneri. He would be best able to take full advantage of the genius passes of Pirlo and sublime crossing of Ronaldinho. The only question is in relation to his price. But Berlusconi did hint at transfer folly…

KEISUKE HONDA
Age: 24
Club: CSKA Moscow (RUS)
Position: Trequartista

CSKA Moscow value him at more than €10 million and maybe the price for the Japanese ace is slighly over inflated. But if he was to back up the performances he put in at the World Cup then he would be worth the money. However, he has yet to prove just why he would be able to figure well in the Italian league. Of course, given his qualities, he would be the ideal playmaker for coach Massimiliano Allegri. With Honda, Ronaldinho would be able to play as a second striker – just what Berlusconi wants.

LUIS FABIANO
Age: 29
Club: Sevilla (SPA)
Position: Forward

Like Dzeko, ‘O Fabuloso’ has the ideal characteristics to shoulder the whole of Milan’s attacking line-up. His age and price though go against him, with Milan seemingly looking elsewhere for the big hit of 2010. But the fact remains that Fabiano is a player that could help Milan achieve big results in quick time. A move for him would be slightly easier compared to others. Never count him out.

NEYMAR
Age: 18
Club: Santos (BRA)
Position: Forward

After excellent signings in Kaka, Pato and Thiago Silva, the Santos starlet could be the next great Brazilian to arrive at San Siro. His young age would be a trump card. Milan could develop him this season and then launch him next year when Ronaldinho’s contract is up, when he will be familiar and more confident with Serie A. He has the pedigree of a phenomenal player, little wonder why Carlo Ancelotti and Chelsea are trying to land him.

ROBINHO
Age: 26
Club: Santos (BRA)
Position: Forward

Of all the names, Robinho seems the most trustworthy. In difficult leagues like La Liga and the Premier League he has held his own. And he appeared mature at the World Cup. In a Brazilian environment such as the one at Milan he would find himself at home. Robinho’s arrival could see Pato sold for a high price, allowing the club to invest elsewhere.
