Club president’s daughter maps Rossoneri future…
Barbara Berlusconi insists that her father, Milan president Silvio, will not relinquish power after 25 years at the club’s helm, and claims that her family will continue to preside over the Rossoneri.
Milan celebrated 25 years of Berlusconi command this week – an era which has seen the club win 26 trophies.
“Thanks to my father’s competence and his inituition Milan have become famous around the world,” Berlusconi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Not many clubs know how to give their fans so much emotions over 25 years. Milan’s mission has always been to stay at the top of Italian and world football.”
Reports have suggested that Barbera could soon take over from her father at Milan – a scenario that appeals to her.
“Why am I interested? Milan represents a part of Fininvest [the Berlusconi holding company] and I want to discover how things work. I don’t want a director’s role, but it is also early to think about the presidency.
“But, my father said if I understand the dynamics of running a football club, then I can work in any sector.”
