The duo are recovering from muscular problems and their involvement in Wednesday’s match at the Stade Gerland may depend on a late fitness test.
Real Madrid pair Kaka and Alvaro Arbeloa could be doubtful for the Champions League clash against Lyon after being ruled out of training on Monday with injury knocks from the 1-0 win over Real Sociedad.
The Spanish giants said on their official website Brazilian midfielder Kaka is suffering from a muscle injury on his right leg while Spanish defender Arbeloa has a left thigh injury.
Kaka came on as a second-half substitute in Madrid’s 1-0 victory at Real Sociedad on Saturday, while Arbeloa played the whole match.
Real did not say whether the injuries would rule either player out of Wednesday’s group match in Lyon for the fourth round of group games.
They currently top Group D with a perfect record after three games, while Lyon have four points.
