Eric Abidal approaches to the end of his Barcelona contract and Milan are reportedly ready to offer him a way out.
The France international’s current deal is scheduled to expire at the end of the season and he is now entitled to speak to other clubs about a summer move.
Barcelona have offered him a two-year contract extension, but with a number of major European clubs interested, the defender has asked for time to think about his future, reports L’Equipe.
Eric Abidal’s contract expires in the summer and, although the French full back has constantly claimed that he wishes to remain at Barcelona, he also hinted in October that he would be interested in a move to one of Europe’s elite clubs if a new deal cannot be agreed.
Milan have already confirmed they are ready to hand the 32-year-old a three-year deal and they are already looking at him as next season’s left back.
Other than Milan, Paris St. Germain, Manchester City and Liverppol are all monitoring his situation, according to the player himself, and all would be willing to pay a fee to secure the defender’s services in January.
