The German is back at Milan to lend a hand to the Italian champions…
Milan have officially announced that Alexander Merkel has returned from Genoa for a six-month loan spell.
The 19-year-old German midfielder was part of the Rossoneri youth team when half his contract was sold to Genoa as part of the deal to sign half of Stephan El Shaarawy this summer.
This evening Milan released a statement on their club website confirming Merkel has come back to San Siro temporarily.
He will wear shirt number 37 and is an important reinforcement, as AlbertoAquilani and Gennaro Gattuso are out for a month, while Philippe Mexes is sidelined for another eight weeks.
