Milan Planning €35 million Move For Arsenal Striker Robin Van Persie

Italian side aim to knock Gunners out of Champions League and steal their star striker too…

Milan are thought to be planning a €35 million move for Arsenal’s Robin Van Persie.

The Gunners’ captain is an integral part of Arsene Wenger’s side but he only has 18 months left on his contract and the London club may look to cash in to avoid hm leaving on a free transfer next summer.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Rossoneri’s vice-president Adriano Galliani will look to table an offer during the second leg of their Champions League tie on March 6.

Both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva have encouraged Van Persie to move from the Emirates recently with the Brazilian commenting:

“He is a champion and all champions are welcome at Milan. He is a player who can bring many things to a team.

“Defences have a real problem in trying to stop him and it really is a pleasure to watch him play.”

      • This is a difficult subject to discuss. Pato has been in trouble for the last season and half, to say the least – basically he wants to redefine the expression “injury prone” – but he is young an talented.

It’s not easy to find someone to replace him… I have an enormous faith in El 92, but he won’t deliver what I expect sooner than 2014. He needs to add some muscles, to get used to certain situations (big matches, travels, to be under extreme pressure from fans&media etc.), to be more confident etc. In a season and half I presume he’ll be ready to carry our attack.

Exactly 10 years ago Milan fans used to ask the club&Galliani to trade Sheva due to his poor performances in the 01/02 season (he scored “only” 17 goals and spent most of the time out with injuries). And two or three years later I read Galliani saying that he was very close to sell Sheva to Real Madrid.

Pato will probably stay and renew his contract.

  1. CdS is a reliable source, but I doubt this will happen. I tend to believe that the club will invest about this sum (€ 40/45 million) next Summer in two or three new players. And no forward in this list.

I presume the investment will bring two new midfielders and a central defender.

But only time will tell the truth.
