Torino’s Raising Star Angelo Ogbonna To Replace Veteran Alessandro Nesta At Milan?

Ogbonna to arrive if Nesta leaves…

Milan will target Angelo Ogbonna should they decide to part company with veteran centre-back Alessandro Nesta.

The latter, who will be 36 next month, will be out of contract in the summer and it is unclear at this stage whether he will be offered a new deal.

Should the former Lazio captain leave the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, then Milan will ask Torino about the availability of Ogbonna.

The 23-year-old started his first game for Italy last week, in the 1-0 defeat against America, despite playing his football in Serie B.

Ogbonna signed a new contract with Toro until June 2016 earlier this season.

Clubs such as Napoli, Benfica, Arsenal and Juventus have been paired with the versatile stopper in the past.

A report in Tuttosport earlier this week also suggested that Nesta could be targeted by Juventus should he become available on a free transfer.

    • Yeah. I think Mesbah deserves the left-back position. He may not the the perfect player is there, but I think he he is 100 times better than Zambrotta and Antonini. Plus the man needs some time to adjust to our system, just like Abate did few years ago – and now look at him…

  1. According to Corriere dello Sport we’re scouting an incredibly number of defenders. Rami (Valencia), Manga (Lorient), Boly (Auxerre), San Jose (A. Bilbao) and Cissokho (Lyon). Probably Nesta has his days with us numbered.

    • Yep, heard about that. My pics Rami & Cissokho.. and regarding Nesta, I guess so. I think the best thing to do is to sell him, but not to Juventus. I don’t want to listen to those silly fans how grateful they are for selling them another star…

      • Rami has one BIG advantage: he perfectly knows Mexés. No need to explain…
But I honestly prefer San Jose.
And Sandro Nesta is a free agent after this season. So, if we don’t renew his contract he’s free to find another team. Exactly what happened to Pirlo. Simple as that.
