Milan Eye Move For Chelsea Fringe Forward Salomon Kalou

Milan are hoping to lure Kalou to Serie A this summer…

According to reports in Talksport, Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou is a transfer target for Italian giants Milan. The Ivorian is out of contract this summer and with talks of an extension seemingly not in the offing, a free transfer to Milan could materialize.

Kalou was nothing more than fringe player at the start of the season at Stamford Bridge. However, following the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas, caretaker manager Roberto Di Matteo has given the Ivorian a new lease of life and the 26-year old has been an important factor in Chelsea’s late revival.

Despite his performances, Kalou’s future, however, still hangs in the balance mainly due to the managerial uncertainty at Chelsea.

Roberto Di Matteo has fared admirably and if Chelsea do go on to win the Champions League, then he could well be given the job permanently. If that does transpire, then Kalou could end up staying put.

However, there has also been talk of a more high profile manager coming in the summer and with massive investment expected, Kalou could well be allowed to leave.

Although Besiktas have also been touted to be interested in the player, Milan are certainly the more likely of the two clubs to seal the deal, given their stature in Europe.

  1. I have a general idea of what can happen next calciomercato – it’s up to Galliani to confirm it or not 😛 – and I suppose Kalou won’t be a rossonero next season. Basically, among all players with expiring contracts in our roster, I believe just Ambro and Gattuso will stay. The others (Roma, Nesta, Yepes, Zambrotta, Flamini, van Bommel, Seedorf and Inzaghi) will leave.

I aso believe that some other players, like Strasser, Amelia, Mesbah, Paloschi, Dídac Villà and Taiwo (the last three on loan) probably will be involved in deals; El Shaarawy will be loaned to Genoa to have more playing minutes and Aquilani and M. Lopez will return to ‘Pool and Catania, respectively.

With 14 players out, Galliani probably will hire at least seven new ones – most of them, like Monto and Traoré, free agents. And I bet on the arrival of a keeper, two central defenders, a left back, two defensive midfielders, an attacking midfielder and Tévez.

And possibly the club will fill the two spots for non EU players with this attacking midfielder and Tévez.

In three months we will have the truth about it.

    • Lets;s hope all of this turns out to be true. Except the part where Strasser, Amelia, Mesbah, Paloschi, Dídac Villa and Taiwo are supposed to be sold.. If it was u to me, I’d let everyone leave except Mesbah & Didac. Them two are awesome players, just need some time to adapt Milan’s system. As I recall, Abate needed time time, as well. Now he’s unsubstantial.
