The midfielder is pleased to have seen his name linked with a summer move to Milan…
Novara midfielder Marco Rigoni has spoke of his delight at being linked with Serie A giants Milan.
The veteran midfielder has been one of the star performers in the 2011/2012 Serie A season and has subsequently seen his name linked with big Italian clubs. The 32-year-old admits his achievements on personal level have been marred by Novara’s relegation to Serie B.
“Although I can’t be satisfied of the season seeing as we were relegated, I have to admit that the transfer interest makes me happy,” Rigoni told Sport Mediaset.
Nonetheless, the player confirms he is delighted to be linked with a club like Milan.
“Milan? I can’t help but smile. I think any player in the world would have dreamed about being paired with a big club like Milan as a child. It is very pleasing to be associated with them. It would be a dream transfer for me, but we’ll have to see what happens.”
The Rossoneri are searching for midfield reinforcements after Gennaro Gattuso and Mark Van Bommel decided to leave the club and could turn to Rigoni in the process.
Rigoni was one of his side’s success stories in a difficult campaign for the Stadio Silvio Piola outfit.
