Milan have opened a new chapter in pursuit of the Italian striker…
Serie A runners-up are pondering launching a bid for Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi.
The Rossoneri are desperate to add to their attacking options following the sale of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer, and the idea of moving for Rossi is gaining traction at Milanello. Milan have already dealt with Villarreal this summer, securing a deal for defender Cristian Zapata, who has joined the club on a season-long loan.
Villarreal were relegated from La Liga last season and have been prepared to shed a number of big earners from their ranks for the forthcoming campaign as they attempt to bounce back into the top flight.
The former Italy international would be one of the biggest departures to date however and the 25-year-old would undoubtedly be attracted to the idea of joining Milan. He has suffered a number of serious injury problems over the last 18 months, with two crucial ligament injuries, the latest sustained in April.
Milan would therefore need to be sure of the striker’s fitness before taking him to the San Siro.
