Milan’s Cassano Swap Deal With Inter’s Pazzini Is Nearing Completion As CEO Galliani Confirms Talks

Another neighborhood business is said to be done between arch rivals…

Milan and Inter Milan are believed to be in discussions to swap strikers Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini, according to Football-Italia.

Milan are looking to bolster their attack for the coming season after the sale of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and it appears that it will be either Pazzini or Juventus’ Alessandro Matri who joins the club. It looks like Milan would be willing to do away with a striker to get Pazzini. Cassano has been visibly unhappy at Milan since the sales of Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva. He feels that Milan have no ambition for the coming season.

Pazzini, who scored 11 goals in 17 matches after his move to Inter from Sampdoria in 2011, scored only five times last season in 33 games and is out of the plans at Inter after Andrea Stramaccioni left him out of the squad for this season’s UEFA Europa League.

Talks have been confirmed few minutes ago as Galliani suggested that “there are negotiations in place” with Inter for Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini.

“There are two weeks left in the market, we’ll see what happens,” said the transfer guru after tonight’s 3-2 Trofeo Berlusconi defeat to Juventus.

“We’ll talk with the President and the Coach, consider things and then make a decision,” continued Galliani. “There are negotiations in place, there is no doubt about that, and we will see. As with all negotiations, they can conclude positively or negatively. I will not deny something is stirring.”
