Three players sidelined…
Just as Milan fans began to feel optimistic for the first time since the summer’s numerous departures, injuries have started to happen to both new signings Riccardo Montolivo, Giampaolo Pazzini and star Kevin-Prince Boateng.
Football Italia state that Boateng‘s absence is caused by having undergone surgery early on Monday. It will at least come as some consolation to the Rossoneri that the area that required surgery was only the Ghanian’s right hand — not exactly the foremost area of stress for practitioners of the “beautiful game.”
It is therefore expected that Boateng will only be absent for two weeks.
Montolivo‘s injury may be a cause for slightly more concern. Not only because he is likely to be sidelined for a bit longer, around 2-3 weeks, but also because it’s the Bergamese’s right thigh/hamstring that has taken the strain. This most certainly is a high-risk area for footballers.
Latest bad news come from Italy’s training camp in Coverciano, where it is reported that Milan’s key player in Bologna win, Pazzini has missed the training on Tuesday. The 28-year-old former Inter striker was forced to watch this morning’s Italy training from the sidelines because of a knee injury.
However, SkySport24 suggests that Pazzini’s injury isn’t a serious one and he will be able to feature for Italy on Friday against Bugaria.
