Milan Interested In Signing Chievo’s Defender Marco Andreolli

Milan seem to never give up on low-cost shots…

According to Tuttosport. the Italian giants are looking to bolster their defense by signing former Inter and Roma defender Marco Andreolli.

Player’s contract with Chievo expires in June 2013 and Milan’s CEO Adriano Galliani wants to acquire him on a free transfer. The 26-year-old former Italy U-21 defender is deemed as the ideal back up to French defender Phillipe Mexes, who has struggled with injuries ever since his arrival back in 2011 and yet earns €4 million per season.

Milan were tracking Andreolli in the past few seasons, but never managed to reach out on him. As his Chievo contract is set to run out in June, Milan coach Allegri may now seriously think about the opportunity to acquire him.

Twente’s Brazilian-born Dutch defender Douglas is considered as Andreolli’s alternative.
