Real Madrid’s Kaka Keeps Place In Brazil Squad For Friendly Against Columbia

Kaka has again been called-up for Brazil’s 1000th game!

Kaka has kept his place in the Brazil and will again feature on Wednesday for Brazil’s 1000th game, a friendly against Colombia in the United States.

The Real Madrid midfielder has been sparsely used by Jose Mourino this season, but featured for Brazil in comfortable friendly wins over Iraq and Japan last month. He scored in both the 6-0 win over Iraq and the 4-0 win against Japan hence making his international return after an absence of more than two years, forming an impressive partnership with Oscar in midfield.

There were no surprises in the squad selected by coach Mano Menezes, who is preparing Brazil for next year’s Confederations Cup and the 2014 World Cup at home. Chelsea playmaker Oscar, Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva and Santos striker Neymar are also in the squad.

Brazil will play Colombia on 14 November at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States. It will be the team’s final match of the year, and the 1000th in its history.

Brazil squad:

Goalkeepers: Diego Alves (Valencia), Jefferson (Botafogo).

Defenders: Adriano (Barcelona), Daniel Alves (Barcelona), David Luiz (Chelsea), Fabio Santos (Corinthians), Leandro Castan (Roma), Rever (Atletico Mineiro), Thiago Silva (Paris Saint-Germain).

Midfielders: Arouca (Santos), Giuliano (Dnipro), Kaka (Real Madrid), Lucas (Sao Paulo), Oscar (Chelsea), Paulinho (Corinthians), Ramires (Chelsea), Sandro (Tottenham), Thiago Neves (Fluminense).

Strikers: Hulk (Zenit St. Petersburg), Leandro Damiao (Internacional), Neymar (Santos).
