Milan Set To Request To Add Prodigy Hachim Mastour To First Team

Mastour could make his first team debut way earlier than expected…

Thought Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling was young at 17 years of age? What about Alen Halilovic? He set the footballing world on fire when he netted for Dinamo Zagreb at just 16. Well, if Milan get their way, both these youngsters are set to look not so young any more. Why? Because the Rossoneri have their sights set on introducing barely 15-year-old prodigy Hachim Mastour to their squad.

According to Goal, Mastour has stood head and shoulders above the rest of Milan’s academy in Filippo Inzaghi’s Primavera team and Massimiliano Allegri believes it is time to introduce him into Italy’s top flight. The only issue being that the Serie A does not allow for players under the age of 16 to partake in league matches.

Despite this, Milan are not backing down and are set to make a special request to have the Moroccan debut in a Milan shirt prior to turning 16. If the request is permitted there is no doubt Mastour will be the youngest player ever to take part in any league match in Italy.

This isn’t the first time Hachim Mastour has been the subject of discussion in the footballing world. The attacking midfielder made headlines when Milan reportedly paid €500,000 for the services of the youngster when he was just 14. By this time, Mastour had already attracted the attention of the likes of Inter, Barcelona, Manchester City and Juventus.

He has already been compared to the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Juan Roman Riquelme, Kaka and Lionel Messi, earning the nickname of the “Moroccan Messi” in the process. Last year, Sky Sports managed to speak to Mastour about his football. When asked about what he believed his main traits were, the youngster said: “My main characteristics? Ball control and dribbling. I do things that other boys my age don’t do.”

Whether the Italian giant get the green light or not, this will certainly not be the last time we hear about Hachim Mastour.

Remember the name!
