Berlusconi has found El Shaarawy’s forward partner…
Milan could look to sell Brazilian pair Robinho and Alexandre Pato to boost coffers for a sensational January swoop on unsettled Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli, Il Corriere dello Sport reports.
Both Robinho and Pato have failed to live up to expectations over the past couple of seasons at the San Siro, with injuries and poor form meaning neither has helped the club to replace the departed Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Pato, who has been linked to PSG, Chelsea and Corinthians in the past 12-months, has also made headlines recently after declaring his discontent at not seeing enough first-team action with 20-year-old El Shaarawy the shining light in attack. Robinho, for his part, has been tipped to make a return to Santos should Milan look to sell the forward in January.
The speculation gathered pace on Sunday with reports suggesting club owner Silvio Berlusconi, a known admirer of “Super Mario”, wants to re-create Balotelli’s partnership with fellow Italy striker Stephan El Shaarawy at Milan.
Balotelli, a self-confessed Rossoneri supporter, has long been linked with a move to the San Siro. He has endured a difficult relationship with Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini, who dropped his fellow Italian earlier this season due to a poor attitude in training.
