“I’ll go and pick Balotelli up…”
Milan defender Francesco Acerbi says he’d welcome Mario Balotelli as he’s backing their bid for the troubled Manchester City striker.
“Super Mario” is again being linked with a switch to the Rossoneri after president Silvio Berlusconi listed him the top Milan target when the transfer window reopens in January.
“Balotelli is a great player who would be of use to any team,” the centre-back noted to Sky Sport Italia. “I’d be more than happy if he arrives.
“Actually, I’d even go to England and pick him up.”
The Italy international has been frequently linked with a return to home country, as Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri has praised the qualities of the 22-year-old forward, as well.
“He is an important player with extraordinary physical and technical qualities. I believe, however, given his qualities, he threw away a few years of his career.”
Balotelli, whose super-agent Mino Raiola has recently ruled out an away move, could feature in Sunday’s Manchester derby for City against United at the Etihad Stadium.
