San Siro clear-out seems to locomote…
The January transfer window clear-out at Milan could continue with the departure of Italian international defender Ignazio Abate as the Rossoneri look to bounce back from a disappointing first half of the Serie A season.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Russian side Zenit have offered €10 million to take the right-back during the January transfer window.
Milan are preparing to use the transfer fees to table a €35 million bid for Manchester City’s bad boy Mario Balotelli, according to the reports. They are also interested in Juventus’ Alessandro Matri, another product of the youth system at the San Siro, who played under Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri at Cagliari.
Famous Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has already revealed that talks about Abate’s departure have been held, twice. In addition, he said that Milan have set a €12 million asking price and are now working on reaching a mutual agreement on the sale.
The 26-year-old defender grew up in the Rossoneri youth academy, though he also had spells at Napoli, Sampdoria, Piacenza, Modena, Empoli and Torino.
