Defenders duo likely to leave Milan…
Milan left-back Luca Antonini has recently attracted much interest during the current transfer window, with clubs from Russia and Germany all keen on the 30-year-old. However, according to the latest reports, Turkish giant Galatasaray is in pole position for his signature.
Sky Sport 24 suggests that Galatasaray president Aysal Unal has just arrived in Via Turati to hold talks with Milan’s officials regarding former Empoli full-back Luca Antonini and Algerian left-back Djamel Mesbah.
Mesbah has previously been linked with Serie A fellow sides Torino, Palermo and Genoa. Due to representing Algeria at the Africa Cup Of Nations, Milan have failed in several attempts to ship out the 28-year-old, with Napoli, Sampdoria and Lazio few of them.
One thing which is not clear is whether Milan will allow Antonini to leave this month.
However, the Rossoneri are looking to reduce the average age of their squad and place the emphasis squarely on youth.
Luca Antonini has a contract running until 2014, while Mesbah’s contract is set to expire in 2017. In addition, It had already been reported on Saturday that Zenit had made a proposal for another defender of Milan, Italian international Ignazio Abate.
