Two exchanges on the radar…
But first of all, feel free to download my e-book “The footsteps of a Legend – Ricardo Kaka” and find out all there is to know about this magnificent player, including stories and statements which have never been revealed before.
UPDATE 18:00 – According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Mesbah-Zaccardo exchange is a done deal! The official statement will be there in an hour or two.
It has been revealed that Zaccardo will not take a pay-cut, earning €900,000 per season. He was rumored to have signed a three-year contract, but now his agent has stated that the 31-year-old is going to be tied up with Milan until June 2017.
As Zaccardo is set to arrive, Abate is facing the exit door. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan and Zenit have settled on a fee. All that is left is to agree personal terms and the Italy international is expected to join the Russian side in the coming days.
UPDATE 14:20 – Sky Sport reports that Milan have reached an agreement with Parma over Zaccardo. The 31-year-old has agreed to join Milan after yesterday’s meeting with Milan officials. He will reportedly sign a two-year contract until June 2015.
In exchange, Djamel Mesbah is set to join Parma and it is very likely that the official statement could arrive as early as until the end of the day.
UPDATE 14:20 – Berlusconi: “Neither Balotelli nor Kaka will arrive at Milan. These are impossible transfers in times like this.” Haha, is it so? As if anyone is going to believe it…
La Gazzetta dello Sport is suggesting that the deal which could see Parma’s captain Cristian Zaccardo join Milan in exchange for Djamel Mesbah is back on.
The two Serie A clubs discussed the swap option earlier this month before admitting that negotiations had stalled. However, talks appear to have re-started and the transfer could be completed before the January window closes.
GdS claims that there is one hurdle that will need to be hurdled, though, and that is to do with Zaccardo’s contract. Milan are prepared to offer the 2006 World Cup winner an agreement until 2015, but the 31-year-old would like a longer deal. In addition, the former Wolfsburg defender is set to take a pay-cut in order to join.
The Italian newspaper also claims that a goalkeeper Amelia-Viviano swap deal could be on the way as late as next week.
As reported, the former Italy international Emiliano Viviano has decided to leave Fiorentina and it has been rumored that Milan could be set to offer Marco Amelia in exchange.
In the meantime, there’s more Kaka talk. We bring you an exclusive Tweet by Italian journalist Ivan Zazzaroni, who has suggested that Kaka would be willing to pay 26% of the taxes, but Real Madrid don’t seem to be keen on letting him go “for free”.
