Zaccardo is set to unlock the Milan transfer window…
Milan have signed Parma defender Cristian Zaccardo with Djamel Mesbah going the other way as part of a swap deal, the Italian side has confirmed on their official website.
“AC Milan announces that it has concluded with Parma FC the following: definitive acquisition of Cristian Zaccardo with Parma having bought the outright of Djamel Mesbah and a loan deal for Rodney Strasser.”
“I am delighted and honored to be in a so important club and I will do everything to make my contribution,” Zaccardo told Milan Channel. “I’m proud that Milan had interested in me. At age 31 I am here, after so many Serie A matches and I will give everything”.
Parma general manager Pietro Leonardi has confirmed Mesbah and Strasser have joined the Ennio Tardini outfit as part of the Zaccardo deal.
The experienced defender arrived at Milan to take medical checks earier today, after reportedly signing a contract until 2017. In the meantime, Parma will have to wait for Mesbah’s arrival as he is currently at the African Cup of Nations with Algeria.
