Former Inter player has poked rivals Milan…
Newcastle full-back Davide Santon says he would “pack his bags” if Milan come calling in the summer.
Santon, who is a Milan, joined Newcastle from rivals Inter for around €5 million in 2011. He has since been linked with a return to Italy and the Rossoneri are said to be keen on him. Well, it seems as though 22-year-old is up for the switch too.
“A return to Italy? I’ve heard of the interest from Milan in me and that is really pleasing,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I’m not sure what would happen if another Italian club came in for me, but I’d seriously think about packing my bags for Milan.”
He also admired that the presence of former Inter Milan team-mate Mario Balotelli would make it an even more attractive proposition to make a move.
“Balotelli? We were still friends and I’m glad he’s doing well at Milan,” added the defender. “His presence would be an incentive to join Milan.”
The only potential obstacle in a deal would be the fact that Santon and his fiancee are expecting a baby in May and he may feel settled where he is.
