Milan Close In On Colombia U-20 Defender Jherson Vergara

Few impressive appearances made the defender on the verge of a dream move…

Milan are closing in on a deal for Colombia U-20 defender Jherson Vergara Amu.

The 18-year-old centre-back is in advanced talks with Milan about a summer move to Italy, though he does not carry an EU passport.

The youngster is currently tied to Universitario de Popayan. According to the latest reports, the Italian giant has already sent scouts to observe the talented player and possibly close the deal with his current side.

Vergara, who left Deportes Quindio to join the Colombian low side in 2011, is considered one of the greatest talents in the world. Strength, heading, intercepting and marking are only few signs of his potential.

  1. Vergara had impressive performances in our U-20 championship last January. Really difficult to find out a central defender who is faster and skilled than most forwards. Hope we can sign Quintero (Pescara) as well.

    • … and I have to say that what is difficult for me is to find any weakness or bad words regarding Vergara – which I’m really happy for 😀
I really hope that we do conclude the deal, we may replace Silva faster than thought (very unrealistic, but…).

    • Yeah, the lack of experience is pretty reasonable and definitely understandable for such young players. However, we have Mexes, who’s acquired to take care of the headings 🙂
