Roma’s Stekelenburg To Replace Abbiati Next Term

The Dutchman will be the primary goalkeeper option if Abbiati leaves…

Milan are eyeing Roma goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg as Cristian Abbiati’s successor.

With Abbiati now 35, Milan are sending out feelers for a younger replacement and have the Dutchman under consideration.

The Holland international was a only step away from Milan in January, as he was set to swap jerseys with Rome-born ‘keeper Marco Amelia. Subsequently, the interest has been renewed and believe that a deal may through in the summer.

QPR’s goalkeeper Julio Cesar, formerly of Inter, has also been mentioned.

However, it seems unlikely that the Brazilian international could join his former side’s he bitter rivals.
