The Italians could table a bid for Assou-Ekotto in the summer…
Milan are being linked with a summer move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto.
The Daily Express claims the Italian giants are casting admiring glances at the Cameroonian international, who is valued at €15 million by the White Hart Lane outfit.
Assou-Ekotto joined Spurs in the summer of 2006, and became a regular once Harry Redknapp took over in north London two years later. However, injuries and a change in manager have seen the player’s Premier League opportunities limited this term.
The 29-year-old has made just 11 appearances in the league for Spurs this season, which in part has been due to his wavering form.
In addition, The Sun has revealed that another Premier League defender, Micah Richards is now on Milan’s wishlist thanks to Mario Balotelli.
The English side are considering cashing in on the 24-year-old England international as they look to fall in line with UEFA’s finanical fair play rules. Moreover, Milan have previously shown an interest in Richards and after a glowing reference from star striker Balotelli they could make a formal bid in the summer.
