They will all come back one day…
Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva has revealed that he is keen to return to Milan one day, the club he played for from 2009 until 2012.
The Brazil international penned a five-year contract with the French side last summer, following a switch from the Italian outfit for a fee of €42m. However, despite his league title success, the 28-year-old has not forgotten about his time in Italy and the club where he made his name in European football.
“I will return to Milan one day,” the defender told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“The Milan jersey is still in my heart. I dream of becoming Milan captain.”
The former Milan player, who now captains his country, went on to praise Mario Balotelli who has enjoyed a successful season with Milan, scoring 12 goals in 13 Serie A appearances following his controversial spell with Manchester City.
“I really like Mario a lot. People shouldn’t judge on appearance, but get to know him,” he said.”
“I would place him only behind Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic if I had to make a list with the best strikers.”
Silva won the Italian league title with Milan in the 2010/11 season, and also bagged the Italian Super Cup that year.
