Real Madrid Legend Iker Casillas In Milan Talks?!

The legendary Spaniard could soon step in on San Siro’s grass!

If it is to be believed several Spanish reports, Milan are weighing up a January move for Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

The Merenges man is currently playing second fiddle to Diego Lopez – he is yet to start a La Liga game this term – and his situation is believed to have alerted a number of European clubs.

Milan have been the latest side to step into the chase, as they actually do see the 32-year-old ‘keeper as a perfect long-term replacement for veteran Christian Abbiati. In addition, the Serie A giant are believed to be are well aware of the player’s desire to take part at the 2014 World Cup and are set to guarantee him regular playing time at San Siro.

It is Catalan daily Sport which claims Milan have already opened talks with Casillas’ agent, with a view of signing the Spain international as early as in January.

To be honest, this sounds like a great way to dwell up the Real Madrid-Barcelona rivalry spears, with Milan the scapegoat in the entire story. In case you don’t get it, try recalling what the legendary Paolo Maldini once meant to Milan – well, that is the case with Casillas and Real Madrid in the present time. However, let the time prove Martina wrong…

In addition, we are about to finish up with a way realistic rumor, linking Manchester United’s AWOL defender Nemanja Vidic to the Diavolo.

The Serbian has been a key player for United over the years, though his form looks to have dipped somewhat after a series of injury problems, and the Red Devils may be willing to listen to offers for the 31-year-old as he nears the end of his current contract.

Eventually, any of the two possible signings would represent significant additions for Milan, as they look to improve their squad after a difficult start to the season.

  1. Agree with you about Iker. “El Mundo Deportivo” and “Sport” are Barcelona based papers. Enough said.

But Iker’s situation is quite similar to what happened to Fernando Redondo 13 years ago. Hope we can get him ASAP.

As for Vidic, I 100% disagree with you. He is a finished player and we do not need him.

    All the best!

    • Iker’d be a great addition. I mean, we’re talking about Casillas here. Who wouldn’t want to have such a veteran and gentleman like him in the roster? 🙂
Well, in that case, there is Thomas Vermaelen – in his late 20’s, excellent defensive abilities as well as offensive, plus captain experience – though, injured most of the time.
Overall, I honestly hope that Milan will set their eyes on the Premier League defenders in January – they have the greatest ones in my opinion.
      Regards Sir
