The French international is set to team-up with compatriot Mexes…
Valencia defender Adil Rami will reportedly join Milan on loan when the January transfer window opens, AS reported and Sky Italia later confirmed.
The Spanish outfit were keen to offload the defender, after he publicly voiced his anger over the summer departures of Roberto Soldado and Alberto Costa. Although the Frenchman has returned to training, it is understood that he will not be considered for selection, with the 27-year-old certain to leave in January.
It is understood that Rami met with Milan officials on Tuesday morning and that an agreement has been reached between all parties that will see him head to the San Siro on a short term deal with an option to buy at the end of the season.
Milan will also take on the rest of the player’s salary, at the request of Valencia, until the end of his loan spell. Should the loan be a success then he will sign a four-year deal worth an estimated €7 million.
In fact, Cadena Ser says that the long-term French international player could travel to Italy as early as in Friday.
Rami joined Valencia in 2011 from Lille and has gone on to make 74 appearances for the club.
