Faouzi Ghoulam On Verge Of Joining Milan

The third January reinforcement is on its way…

Milan are very close to signing Saint-Etienne defender Faouzi Ghoulam, according to reports in France.

They have reportedly already secured the signatures of Keisuke Honda and Adil Rami, but they, nonetheless, plan to continue their winter recruitment.

The French newspaper L’Equipe has suggested Milan is a step away from securing a January move for Ghoulam.

Coach Allegri has been using midfielders Kevin Constant and Urby Emanuelson as left-backs this term, and he is determined to sign a natural left-sided defender.

The 22-year-old Algerian defender, who also holds a French passport, has spent his entire career with les Verts, making 76 league appearances, and scoring one goal in the process.

  1. Not a bad player, but I can’t use the word “defender” to describe him. He is uncapable to guard his own shadow…
Why not to sign Digne, who is just a bench warmer in Paris?

    • Haha, really?
I haven’t seen him play but I recall reading somewhere that he has a great potential. It is was up to me, I’d take Digne any day over Ghoulam.
Digne was one of the best players at the u-20’s. However, I honestly don’t think that he minds warming the PSG bench. Who would, in fact, mind earning €3 million at the age of 20? 😀

  2. € 3 million every year? Really? Ouch.

I just changed my mind. Digne is good, but this is an insane amount of money to pay to an unproven talent. Ghoulan all the way, even though I suppose he is the second coming of Emanuelson.

And Galliani could send Mr. Bronzetti to Madrid to hire a decent coach (Diego Simeone). I know he has Inter roots, but we’re in a desperate situation.

    • Yeah, too bad.
It’s a fact PSG can afford paying everyone such salaries, but on the other hand, I don’t see Digne earning the exact amount next season for instance. He’d better enjoy spending them without any time spent on the field ’cause I bet that it is going to come to an end very soon.
He is probably going to get loaned at a less-popular French side…
As far as Galiani is concerned, I couldn’t agree more!
This situation that we are in is worse than desperate. In several occasion over here I’ve even heard children say that they are ashamed of revealing their support for Milan in public nowadays…
God have mercy for us – the ordinary, poor and powerless fans.
