He is closing in on his goal with every played match!
The Brazil national team has finished 2013 high, hence winning the Confederations Cup and mastering their opponents in few friendly fixtures. Now come the difficult task to pick a minority of at least 100 players who will wear the Selecao jersey at the hosting World Cup.
Kaka, who was struggling for playing time at Real Madrid before returning to Milan, seems to have moved at the top of the list with his recent performances. In fact, according to the Brazilian newspaper Folha de S. Paulo, the Rossoneri fans’ favorite has been included in the World Cup pre-list alongside Atletico Mineiro’s magician Ronaldinho.
That means that they will both have the opportunity to feature in a friendly against South Africa in March, which is going to be Brazil’s last pre-World Cup match.
Couple of weeks ago, coach Luiz Filipe Scolari revealed that he is keeping an eye on the 31-year-old midfielder, who hasn’t played for his country since October 2012, and is eager to recall him in his squad.
“I was happy with Kaka’s decision to sign with the team that gave him the chance to be at his best once more,” he told reporters. “I am watching all Milan fixtures. He can certainly have a good opportunity in the future.”
