Milan Glorie Star Andriy Shevchenko To Make Comeback In Indonesia?

Legend to return to football…

After retiring last summer, former Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko could make a return to professional football with Indonesian outfit Mitra Kukar.

The 36-year-old announced his retirement after captaining Ukraine at Euro 2012 last summer, but according to ESPN, he is considering joining the Indonesia Super League team for a sizable wage.

Mitra Kukar manager Roni Fauzan told reporters: “Obviously we’re interested in Shevchenko, but we have to continue to discuss this question, particularly the financial aspects. We’d like to invite Andrey for 10 games, but he apparently is happy to play no more than five times.

“He has also made clear that he is not against joining Mitra Kukar, but at the moment we don’t know how much he’ll be able to play.”

The Ukrainian has played for Milan legends against an Indonesian All Stars XI in the country’s capital, Jakarta, last week.
