The former Milan coach believes his old side will be competing for the Scudetto this season…

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has given his opinion on the scudetto race for the upcoming campaign and while he gave a diplomatic answer, he hinted that Juventus would be the team to watch.

“The title race? I don’t do predictions, but I would just say that Inter, Juventus and Milan will play on a par,” Ancelotti told Tuttosport.

“In particular, Juve will fight until the end for thescudetto with people like [Fabio] Cannavaro, very useful in a World Cup year, Felipe Melo and Diego, who is a fantastic player.

“I expect a lot from Napoli and Palermo, but I will support Milan and also Roma a little,” Ancelotti concluded.

By taking such a diplomatic approach, the tactician may even avoid incurring the wrath of Inter coach Jose Mourinho, who has recently turned on Roma’s Luciano Spalletti in another self-created managerial war-of-words.

Ancelotti is currently preparing his squad for their clash with Fulham this afternoon, but will doubtlessly look on with interest as Inter and Juventus begin their Serie A campaigns later today.
