Milan Agree Jorginho Deal With Hellas Verona

Milan have agreed to sign Verona midfielder Jorginho, La Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed. The Rossoneri reportedly have an agreement in place to purchase 50% of the player’s contract in the summer transfer window.

Jorginho is expected to remain at Verona for the 2013/2014 season, especially if the club manages to clinch promotion to Serie A.

The Brazilian midfielder, who holds has an Italian passport, has been impressive for Verona in Serie B, which in turn saw some of Europe’s top clubs show interest in his services. Arsenal were also keen on the 21-year-old, but Milan swiftly wrapped up the deal and beat the Gunners to the player’s signature.

Jorginho arrived at Hellas Verona from minnows Sambonifacese in 2011 and went on to make 60 Serie B appearances for Gialloblu.
